Tony Chang, conductor and music director of The Oskaloosa Symphony since 1998, received his Bachelor's degree in Violin Performance from Indiana University; Master of Music from Miami University; and is a candidate for the Doctoral degree in Violin Performance at the University of Oklahoma. He has worked with such renowned violinists as Franco Gulli and Josef Gingold. Maestro Chang has played in professional orchestras in the Unitest States and Japan. He has been the conductor and music director of the Ottumwa Symphony since 1988. In May, 2003 Maestro Chang was invited to conduct the Pleven Philharmonic in Bulgaria. He was invited to return as guest conductor in May 2006. The Pleven Philharmonic is one of the top professional orchestras in Bulgaria with a ten-month season and 50 annual subscription concerts.
